Gravity guy

gravity guy, in my oppinion is more of a multiplayer game, not a single playered one. you can try playing the single mode but you'll get bored easily. What i play the most is the local multiplayer mode where all four players play on a single device, this is seriously fun, it's a party game.

the game is really really simple, just tap the screen to change the gravity so that your avatar will go upside down, but when there are four players, it gets a bit tricky. The veteren player would have memorized all the spots where he can 'trap' the other player, into going into a dead end or just trapping him so that he falls or can't move forward. It's really fun i'm not kidding you, maybe even the best multiplayer game on the iphone.

There are a total of 8 maps in multiplayer mode, each with different backgroud and at a different moving speed, the game could've been better if they had set the speed at random so that it will be more challenging. The goal is to reach the end and whoever reaches first wins. Some stages are better than the other but we can't choose so it doesn't really matter.

there's no shop in this game meaning you can't upgrade your player. The only way to beat the other players is with experience. I really recommend this game for those who just don't have anything better to do with their spare time during classes or lectures because this game doesn't consume a lot of time, 10minutes is already enough to play in all 8 maps with your friends. Have fun and enjoy!

Fruit ninja

One of the most famous slice em' up game out there, who hasn't heard of fruit ninja probably doesn't even have an iphone. The game doesn't have much for me to review or anything, I just love the simplicity of it. There are 2 versions of fruit ninja, one is the original fruit ninja, the other is fruit ninja:puss in boots version. Both are splendid and i recommend you to download both of them because eventhough the gameplay is the same, the modes are different.

For the original fruit ninja, there are three modes, arcade, zen, and classic. arcade and zen are almost the same, they both have a time limit while classic doesn't. Most of the time i play classic because it doesn't have a time limit so i can challenge my previous score. As for the other two modes, Since it has a time limit, once you get a certain score so high, you know it's not going to be possible to beat it so stop playing after a while.

The gameplay is, slice up fruits, and avoid the bombs. Some fruits have a bonus such as the star fruit(gives you a score of 25) and the pomegranate(give you a score based on the number of slices you do on it). What can be bought in the shop is the ability to reflect bombs ,strawberries(explodes when sliced) and peaches(gives additional time in zen and arcode mode). All of these are active features meaning they disappear once you use them.

The key to get a good score is combos, at least 3 fruits with one slice and you get an additional 3 points, 4fruits 1 slice give additional 4 points and so on. The use of the items in the store is also a must to get a high score.

Battle Cats

Battle cats was one of the crazes when i was studying in my foundation years. People were like, 'have you guys heard this game called battle cats, it's so cute and awesome'. Well battle cats is just a game where you have to protect your building against enemies, and you fight them off with your army of cats which you buy over a period of time. It's definitely not a new game of it's kind, but i do think it's a well made game.

First thing they did right was choosing a cute theme, which are cute cats, fighting all sorts of other animals. This makes it more marketable, the art is simple and the basics of the game is already well known because there are so many games of the same kind.

Second, the humour of the game. It won't take long for you to realize that this game is pretty funny, because of the design of the game and most of the description of the characters, is just hillarious and completely random.

Third, is the replay value is very high, as you finish a chapter, there will be another chapter for you to continue playing in which is the same game obviously at a harder level. As you complete a level, you'll have a chance to get a part treasure and if collected a set of treasures, a bonus will be given, usually an ability for you to proceed the levels in the game easier. And each chapter offers a reward, a special cat. Talking about cats, we can upgrade them and when we  have upgraded them to the maximum level of 10, their appearance will change so sometimes you just can't help to wonder form of cat will they evolve into, just this is enough for you to collect enough money for the upgrades.

Trust me, the game is challenging if you want to complete the whole game, it'll consume a lot of time. Rather than skill, I'd say this game requires more determination and effort. This is the type of game which should be played with a number of people, in a sense that, you compete with your friends so that you can show off the level you have reached and the amount of cats you have upgraded to the maximum level.

Cytus

I've always been a big fan of music games on every gaming paltform, guitar hero, dance dance revolution and games of that kind. Most music games on the ios or android are just copies of tap tap, where there are usually three buttons at the bottom of the screen and we need to push it accordingly following the rythm of the music. That was the original tap tap game, now developers are trying to copy tap tap but with just a bit of improvements. it's cheap, most of these games are just copies but with different music but consumers still buy them so you can say that it's a success.

Cytus, is nothing so different. It's basically the same thing but with one difference, in most music games, circles will fall onto a 'line' and when it reaches this line, the player is supposed to tap the line. Cytus on the other hand, the circles are static, the one moving is the line. The circles appear from all angles, sometimes random sometimes in an orderly fashion and as the 'line' gets closer to the circles, it'll grow bigger so to signal it's time to tap those circles. This just totally changes the experience of playing music game even though fundamentally, it has the same concept as other games.

Currently, there's a total of 5 free chapters in this game(each chapter has 10 songs) and the price was 1$ when i bought it. But i actually bought 10 songs more in the other 3 paid chapters, and spent 10$ doing this but i really didn't regret it because I really love music games and i play this game a lot.

In the free chapters, my favourite song is 'Halcyon', 'Parousia' and 'Holy Knight'. Well, i thought Halcyon was hard, that was not until i bought songs from chapters 6/7/8. I haven't even gotten pass the 'A' mark in 'Axion' in chapter 8.

To sum it up, it's a must play for music lovers, the developers even said that if they hit the 1million mark on downloads, all the songs in the other chapters will be free!

Mr ninja by ponos

All of Ponos's games are really damn addictive, that includes mr. Ninja, a super simple game where you just jump from one rotating platform to the next with an objective to slice up all the aliens between the platforms. So there are certain pathways you must follow in order to slice ALL the aliens up, in order to accumulate a 'chain' or combos which is the key factor in getting a high score in this game. Finishing the game without a good chain will be pointless because the score will surely be low.

3 modes of the game are normal, super chain and impossible. Normal is the mode i stated above, impossible is the same thing but with a much higher dificulty(and a rare chance to find a star: a bonus where your chain won't be broken even when you didn't hit all the aliens in a single jump) where the platforms are smaller and rotate faster. Super chain is a mode with a time limit where you can find stars quite often.

Normally, i'd play the normal mode because i don't need to focus too much compared to impossible, where a there's just a small margin for error and going beyond that usually means 'game over'. Though, I would always play super chain when playing with friends because there's a time limit so when we take turns playing, none of us will be waiting too long and succumb to boredom of watching the other player play.

Impossible looks practically the same here
